DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety reported that on October 26th, their investigators made an arrest in the murder of Olympia Cerruti, a 34-year-old mother of three.
Cerruti was found stabbed in the early morning of September 22nd in a room at the Hawaiian Inn.
Reportedly, Woodberry was arrested at U.S. Foods, where he worked without incident. He was turned over to the Volusia County Branch Jail, where he awaits first appearance.
Woodberry was previously stopped by an officer on September 22nd at 4:30 a.m. for speeding as he left the area of the Hawaiian Inn, investigators say.
Nearly an hour later, the same officer was dispatched to the Hawaiian Inn, where he made efforts in attempt to save Cerruti, says the report.
Investigators say they were able to identify Woodberry by matching him to surveillance video at the Hawaiian Inn and the officer's body-worn camera that night. Phone and text records, as well as biological evidence, also linked the the victim to Woodberry.
