Mom says man stole car with twin toddlers inside

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A Daytona Beach mother of twins walked into the China One Restaurant on Bellevue Avenue Wednesday night. S he walked out a few minutes later, and her car with her two 3-year olds inside was gone.

The mom, who did not want to be named, told FOX 35, "I was scared, terrified, just, oh my God, overwhelmed with fear!  I would never think this would happen to me."

Just a few minutes after, she called police a woman at a nearby apartment complex called police after she heard children crying in a car in her parking lot.

Police found the car with the children inside. They weren't hurt. The car was turned off with the keys still inside and it was getting cold.

"Ten minutes seems like it's not that long, but it felt forever to me," the mother explained.

She is thankful for police and that alert neighbor.  Daytona Beach police were still looking for the suspect as of Thursday afternoon.
