Mascot named for Fight for Air Climb charitable event

The American Lung Association in Florida has named Cooper, a 6-year-old yellow lab, the official mascot for this year's Fight for Air Climb, to be held at the Bank of American Center on March 5.  The Fight for Air Climb is a charitable fundraising event where corporate teams climb 25 flights of stairs to raise money and awareness for healthy lungs and clean air.

Cooper is a great fit as an official mascot for the Climb as the pooch is also a therapy dog at Arnold Palmer Hospital, Orlando Regional Medical Center, and the UF Cancer Center. Owners Mike and Amy Morton, both firefighters who have participated in the Climb for many years, say Cooper seems to understand the importance of helping others in need.

Cooper’s new role as the official mascot of the Fight for Air Climb will be a busy one.  Cooper will be available to greet climbers and pose for photo opportunities at a photo booth.

Sparky’s Pet Salon is the official sponsor for the Dog Mascot Contest and will award $500 worth of prizes to the top three finishers.  The mascot competition is presented by Colonial Life.
