Man wanted for punching girlfriend in the face because she did not wake up quick enough

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook that they need your help to find Demetrez A. Reese, 36, of Orange City. 

Police say that Demetrez punched his girlfriend in the face, causing her nose to bleed, during a domestic violence incident. 

Reportedly, on October 1st, at 11 p.m., Reese came home and woke up his sleeping girlfriend. The 24-year-old woman told deputies that Reese hit her in the face because she didn't wake up quickly enough. 

A family was said to have tried to intervene, but Reese pointed a gun at him and threatened to shoot him. The altercation ended when Reese put the gun away and threw a plastic vase at the family member. Reese then fled the home. 

Reese and his girlfriend have two toddlers together, who were also present during the incident, according to the post.

Reese is a convicted felon. He faces charges of simple battery domestic violence, aggravated assault with a firearm, and felon in possession of a firearm.

Reese is 6'1" and has brown eyes and brown hair.
