FOX 35 (WOFL) - Firefighters say up to 200 feet of the dunes were on fire when they got to Flagler beach, early Monday morning.
Witnesses said Christopher Munson was setting the dunes on fire, letting the fires burn for a few minutes, and then stomping them out.
They said they also saw Munson taking selfies with the fire. Deputies arrested him when they arrived on the scene.
Authorities said Muson took full responsibility for the damage, claiming he wanted to burn all the grass away so he could see the years of litter visitors have left behind.
Munson told them he planned on throwing away all the trash when he was done.
