ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The bullet hole is still visible after Orange County deputies say that bullet barreled through a Volvo SUV early Monday morning. The victim of the random shooting on Chuluota Road in Orange County is a 45-year-old man.
“My children go to UCF and they usually travel this road,” said Javier Marquez.
Marquez lives in Chuluota and says as a trucker who drives Chuluota Road often, it's a terrifying thought.
“It makes you think you know about those people, it makes you think about anybody who's going down the road being family you're worried about what can happen down the road especially at night,” Marquez said.
Orange County deputies say the victim was driving North on Chuluota road around 12:30 am when a white car started shooting, the victim was able to drive to the Hitching Post Bar & Grill where he called police.
“It's not a good thing when you're going down the road and being fired at for no reason at all,” Marquez said.
Fortunately the victim's injuries were not life threatening, but deputies say the shooter is still out there -- residents just hope the person is found for their own piece of mind.
“I do hope they find he person who did it,” Marquez said.
Anyone with information should contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
