Man found dead near Parramore apartment building

- Police combed the neighborhood after a man's death in Orlando’s Parramore community. Evidence markers were placed throughout the parking lot, following the overnight murder. Some residents said it's a part of life there.

“It's a shock,” admitted Demetrice Anthony, “but not surprising.”

“In the six months I've been living here, this is the about the third time I've seen something like this happen around this neighborhood,” said Ruth Sanchez.

Police said they found the man, identified as 29-year-old Albert Hanks, collapsed on the ground near the apartment building. They said he was pronounced dead at Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Police said it happened around 2:30 in the morning outside the apartment, west of downtown Orlando. They said the body showed signs of trauma.

Neighbors said they didn't hear a thing. “Only thing I heard was when the detective knocked on my door, this morning,” Anthony said.

“I personally didn't know,” said Sanchez, “I just came out here to go to work and I saw all of that and said, 'Oh, it explains a lot!'”

Residents said it’s a tight-knit area. “We're all like a family, we always got each other's back, we're always there for each other,” said Sanchez.

“It's a small community,” said Anthony, “everybody over here knows everybody.”
