Man drowns while fishing at Barker Park

ORLANDO, Fla (WOFL FOX 35) - A man drowned while fishing in a lake at George Barker Park Saturday morning. 

Police got the call just after 7 a.m. in the 2000 block of Monte Carlo Trail. 

Police on scene tell us they were told that the man jumped into the water, from the shore, to get a fishing rod but didn't resurface. 

Orlando Police Department and Orlando Fire Department responded to the scene and recovered the man from the lake. 

Authorities say he was alive when they pulled him out and transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, but he was later pronounced deceased. 

The man has not been identified at this moment.
