Man baker acted after making threats at Ocala church

A man was baker acted after making threats at an Ocala church on Thursday.

The Ocala Police Department says that there was a man in the parking lot of Meadowbrook Church holding a package and making threats. 

The man was detained and police say that they evacuated the building while the Marion County Sheriff's Office assisted a bomb squad.

Police say they found that there was no evidence of any bomb making material in the suspect's home. The investigation thus concluded that there were no direct threats made to any individual or the church.

The 24-year-old male suspect has reportedly been Baker Acted by OPD four times and is believed to be experiencing psychosis as a result of being off of his medication. He will receive a mental health evaluation and treatment. There will be no criminal charges.
