EATONVILLE, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A man, who says he was awaken by demons in his room, murdered an Eatonville woman he had relations with.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office says that on July 14th, at approximately 4:22 a.m., officers with the Eatonville Police Department responded to Deacon Jones BLVD in reference to a suspicious incident. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a man, who told them that he had seen an unidentified person with what appeared to be blood and a dead body.
Officers say they then made contact with Lesley Satenay, known to them as 'Dread,' on the outside porch. Satenay told officers that "the Devil was inside his room."
Due to the circumstances, officers say that they breached Satenay's room and observed an unidentified person in the front left corner of the bedroom. Maitland Fire Rescue was called to the scene to administer life saving techniques, but the unidentified person was already deceased.
The report from the Orange County Sheriff's Office says that the Satenay's initial statements to responding officers and dispatch was "hit the Devil with a bible." Officers observed what appeared to be blood on the pants and feet of Satenay.
Officers say they believe the scene exhibited signs of physical altercation and what appeared to be blood present throughout several areas of Satenay's room. The deceased victim inside the room was later identified as Krytal T. Phillips. Phillips appeared to have suffered blunt force and severe trauma. An autopsy is pending for the official cause of death.
Satenay was said to have been detained and taken into custody while on scene at his residence on Deacon Jones BLVD. He was transported to the Eatonville Police Headquarters and detectives were dispatched to his residence for further investigation. Satenay was later transported to the Orange County Sheriff's Office Central Operations Center on Colonial Drive.
Detectives say that after a preliminary review of the crime scene with the Orange County Sheriff's Office Forensics unit, a large pipe and a bible with what appeared to be blood was present. There was also a frying pan near Phillip's body and some sort of foreign object located in Phillips' face.
Satenay is said to have confessed during interrogation that he believed there were demons inside his room and that he swung his knife that he thought struck a big person. Satenay stated that he grabbed a frying pan located by the stove and struck the big person about three more times. Satenay stated that he killed an innocent person that was his friend and she did not deserve to die.
Satenay reportedly also confessed that he had sexual intercourse with Phillips the night before and has had a sexual relationship with her throughout their kinship. Satenay stated that he thought Phillips left his residence after intercourse and he went to sleep to be awoken by demons. Satenay stated that he was sorry for killing his friend.
The report says that there was probable cause to arrest Satenay for the 2nd Degree Homicide of Phillips. He was then transported to the Orange County Sheriff's Office Corrections Department BRC on Vision BLVD, where he was booked for such charge. Additional charges are pending.
