Man accused of trying to assault woman on bus

- In body camera video obtained by FOX 35, you hear and see Ponce Inlet Police question Michael Speaks at a Ponce Inlet bus stop, after a call from the Votran Bus driver and female passenger.

The woman said Speaks grabbed her and tried to sexually assault her.

"First, he followed her to the back, then he followed her to the front, that's where he exposed himself completely kinda putting his privates in her face. Then she still went to the back and he went after her there. that's when she tried to defend herself," said Ponce Inlet Police Chief Frank Fabrizio.

That's when the bus driver jumped in to help.

"When the bus driver intervened, they tussled and fell into bus window and cracked that window," Chief Fabrizio said.

While he was being arrested police say they found a five inch knife in Speaks' front pocket.

"He attempted to sexually batter her, grabbed her several times, pulled his pants completely down. He made some vulgar comments of what he was trying to take from her and lucky the bus driver came and pulled the bus over and assisted her and tried to restrain him," Chief Fabrizio said.

When police had Speaks in the back of a squad car, they say he got violent with officers -- kicking, spitting, threatening --  so they put a "wrap" restraint him before taking him to jail.

"He was very violent when we tried to arrest him, kept making threats he would kill the officers when he got out or got out of handcuffs," Chief Fabrizio added.
