ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Orange County sheriff’s deputies said a 72-year-old man was carjacked in broad daylight at a carwash on South Orange Blossom Trail.
Deputies were called to the car wash, at 12491 S. OBT, around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. An elderly man said he was approached by three teenagers, one of whom pulled him from his vehicle by force. Then, he told deputies, all three got in his car and left.
Patrols spotted the vehicle a short time later, only about three-and-a-half miles up OBT. They said the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit began.
Deputies said the stolen vehicle finally came to a stop at OBT and Holden, when the car hit a light pole. All three suspects were captured without injuries.
Deputies said the victim sustained minor injuries but was treated at the scene and released.
