Local schools closed for Hurricane Irma

Central Florida school closures are listed below.  We are attempting to update this ever-changing schedule.  If you see an error, please contact web@foxwofl.com.

Alachua County Public Schools will reopen Monday, September 18. 

Brevard County Public Schools will reopen on Monday, September 18.  All staff and students asked to report then. Activities, sports canceled until Monday.

Flagler County Public Schools will resume Monday. All extracurricular activities, athletic practices and competitions are canceled until Monday.  The school calendar for the 2017-18 school year includes three make-up days, November 20, 21, and 22; however, a make-up schedule has not been announced. 

Lake County Public Schools will remain closed through Tuesday, September 16.  All extracurricular activities, including sports practices, are canceled for the week as well.  Employees are asked to report to work on Monday, Sept. 18, and students will return on Tuesday, Sept. 19. 

Orange County Public Schools will reopen Monday, September 18.  Friday night football games will be rescheduled. 

Osceola County Public Schools plans to resume school on Monday, September 18.  Make-up days will be determined after a full review and analysis of school instructional minutes and state requirements. 

Polk County Public Schools will reopen Tuesday, September 19.

Seminole County Public Schools will reopen Monday, September 18. This includes NO school-related extracurricular and athletic activities.   As a result of school closures stemming from Hurricane Irma, Seminole County students will be making up four of the six days missed.  The student make-up dates are:  Monday, October 16, 2017; Tuesday, October 17, 2017; Friday, December 22, 2017; Friday, March 16, 2018.

Sumter County Public Schools will be closed through Friday, September 15. They will re-open on Monday, September 18.
