Knife pulled on UCF student after discovering suspicious incident

ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A knife was pulled on a UCF student after he discovered a possible burglary in progress.

A University of Central Florida (UCF) Alert was sent out very early on Monday detailing a suspicious incident that happened on campus around 1:40 a.m. that day. They say that a man was leaving the parking lot of the Sigma Chi fraternity house when he encountered a burglary in progress.

The vitim, according to the UCF Police Department, originally thought that the man he saw was one of his fraternity brothers looking into a vehicle, so he approached the suspect and asked him if he needed help. The suspect pushed him upon approaching, causing the victim to fall and hit his head. He managed to get up and approached a second time. 

The police report states that this is when the suspect pulled out a small knife. The victim attempted to grab the knife, but was pushed to the ground again. The suspect then fled the scene into a wooded area. He was not seen again. 

The victim sustained minor injuries, according to the UCF Alert.

The UCF Police Department did set up a perimeter and used K-9s to assist with a search for the suspect, the alert states. The suspect has yet to be located. He is described as a dark-skinned male, at least 6-feet tall, in his mid-20s, with short, wavy hair, and wearing a white shirt, jeans, and black shoes.
