Kidnapping suspect accused of threatening woman

A kidnapping suspect is in jail, accused of threatening a woman with a gun to prevent her from testifying in court.

Deputies say a man pointed a gun at a woman and her boyfriend on Sunday evening as they walked past a home in the Palms Trailer Park, off Orange Blossom Trail.  According to the arrest report, the man threatened to shoot the victim's boyfriend and told him to run, and then forced the victim into a trailer, at gunpoint.  Once inside, investigators say, the suspect terrorized the woman with a gun and ordered her to stop testifying against him in an ongoing criminal investigation.

According to deputies, another person named Kelly Sittig was also telling the victim that she should be "six feet under," as  punishment for testifying. However information on that court case wasn't available.

Meanwhile, the victim's boyfriend contacted police and officers headed to the scene. We talked to neighbor Tom Weler, who explained, "I saw two [officers], one was out front one was out back of the place. The police rummaging through the house."

According to investigators, the male suspect was able to get away, but the gun was later found in Sittig's bedroom.  A woman in the trailer says she rent's a room out to Sittig but had no idea what was going on. In the arrest report, Sittig denies the allegations and says the victim came into her apartment to flee from her boyfriend as a result of domestic dispute.

Sittig is charged with kidnapping, with intent to inflict harm and terror while using a weapon.  She also faces a violation of community control charge out of Polk County and has several prior drug arrests.
