WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Polk County deputies announced the arrest of more than 100 people after an undercover operation that targeted internet crimes associated with human trafficking and child exploitation.
Detectives went undercover for six days. They say they created fake ads or responded to ads and contacted the suspects to meet up.
One of them told deputies he was a ride mechanic at Universal Studios.
"It's funny that he's got a job where he can be around children. At the end of the day, he's a deviant and sex predator and he's locked up in the county jail," Sheriff Grady Judd offered.
By the end of it, 128 suspects were arrested in locations across Florida, including Tampa, Lakeland, and St. Pete.
