I-95 southbound shut down for short time in Brevard County
MELBOURNE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that the right lane of I-95 southbound is back open. Around 8:00 pm, a multi-vehicle accident shut down all southbound lanes of I-95 near mile marker 179 in Melbourne.
A FDOT camera shows the backups extending more than a mile from the accident.
Brevard County Fire Rescue initially tweeted 16 people were involved. We've since learned four people have been transported to the hospital.
Rain is falling in the area, but there is no word if that was a factor in the accident.
