Goodbyes begin for fallen Kissimmee police officers

-

First responders from across the state lined up around a funeral home next to the Kissimmee Police Department Wednesday.

Each of them waited as long as it took to view two fallen colleagues and be there with their families and fellow officers.

Family and friends held a private wake for Sgt. Sam Howard and Officer Matthew Baxter.

Their fellow Kissimmee Police Officers marched in formation across the street to honor and mourn the two men who were gunned down last weekend.

The officers’ funeral will be held on Thursday morning in Orlando; the turnout is expected to be massive.

While family and friends grieved together Wednesday the community of Kissimmee came together to support them.

Local businesses held a celebration of the two officers downtown with most of the proceeds going directly to a bank account for the fallen officers’ families.
