Gainesville police take down man making threats at police station

Gainesville police say a man walked into their police station Thursday night, making threats to kill police officers and the chief of police.

The whole incident was caught on surveillance video.

Officers say he was armed with a steak knife and a pair of scissors.

Police say Joseph Roberts went into the lobby and was complaining about a task force that was monitoring his electronic devices.

Gainesville PD say there's no such task force.

The video shows officers letting him go on for a while, trying to calm him down and de-escalate the situation, before using a taser to take him down.
