ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 Orlando) - "The Fortress" is nearly a reality on Full Sail University’s campus.
On Tuesday, school leaders showed off the almost-completed arena that will house the school’s eSports team, known as the Armada.
The arena includes more than 21,000 square feet of space, moveable stages for different competitions, spectator areas, and more than 10 million pixels of LED screens.
eSports are the fairly new world of professional video gaming that is quickly growing in Orlando and worldwide. Members of the Armada play in a variety of games and also train at the school to expand the scene and the world of gaming in general.
Leaders at the school said the arena will also serve as a classroom for those students and will be operated by many of the students.
The Fortress is now the largest full-time collegiate eSports arena in the country. School leaders plan to unveil it publicly during a ribbon cutting in the coming months.
