Friends remember Roger Trindade
WINTER PARK, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Roger Trindade was honored through prayer and song Friday, almost a year after his death. The 15-year-old boy died in October of 2016, after being beaten.
"He was an inspiration, he still is," said one of Trindade's teachers, in between tears.
Trindade's father, Rodrigo Trindade, says his son's death is still surreal.
"What happens is, we wake up everyday in the nightmare."
One teen accused in the case, Jagger Gounda has taken a plea deal. Two others, Simeon Hall and Jesse Sutherland, are also accused in Trindade's beating death. They go to trial in November.
"We trust the State Attorney and the judge will do the right thing," Rodrigo tells FOX 35.
In the meantime, they say they'll continue to honor their son's memory.
