FOX 35 shops for 'Made in America' school supplies

President Donald Trump is spending this week focusing on a key part of his campaign. He calls it "Made in America" week.

Mr. Trump wants you to buy American whenever you can. We know you might want to get on board. So we decided to see how easy it is to buy American.  FOX 35's Tom Johnson went shopping, to see what he could find that is made in America.  He also reached out to big retailers to get responses on their "made in America" policies.  We will post their responses as we receive them below:

Walmart:

In January 2013, Walmart committed to American renewal by announcing it intends to help boost job creation and U.S. manufacturing through buying an additional $250 billion in products that support American jobs over 10 years. By investing in products that support American jobs, we are able to bring new products to our shelves that our customers want and new jobs to our communities. Increasing domestic manufacturing will help create additional jobs in the U.S., and that's good for American businesses.   Based on data from Boston Consulting Group, it's estimated that 1 million new U.S. jobs will be created through this initiative, including direct manufacturing job growth of approximately 250,000, and indirect job growth of approximately 750,000 in the support and service sectors. According to data from our suppliers, items that are made assembled, sourced, or grown here account for about two-thirds of what we spend to buy products at Walmart U.S. Our customers tell us that where products are made is most important second only to price.
