Child pornography arrest

Joshua Langel, a 30-year old Winter Park  resident, was arrested on child pornography charges last Friday by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.  The arrest on ten counts of possession of child pornography followed an online investigation.

According to the report, the investigation began on July 13, 2016 when undercover investigators discovered computers in Central Florida that were advertising files depicting sexual exploitation of minors. A search warrant was issued and investigators removed a computer and cellphone from Langel’s residence. According to the report, the computer was searched at the scene and investigators say they discovered 10 files that depicted children in engaged in sexual activity.

Langel was released from the Orange County Jail last Saturday after posting bond.  He was ordered to not have contact with anyone under the age of 18 and no access to the internet.

According to state statute, each charge is a 2nd degree felony.

Langel was a FOX 35 employee at the time of his arrest.

In a statement, FOX 35 station management said “FOX 35 became aware of Joshua Langel’s arrest on Friday. He is no longer with the station.”
