SANFORD, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Four Sanford schools were placed on lockdown Wednesday morning after a domestic dispute.
Seminole County Public Schools confirmed that there were four schools placed on lockdown due to police activity in the area.
Midway Elementary School, Millenia Middle School, Hamilton Elementary School, and the Early Learning Center were placed on code yellow, indicating normal operations and instruction inside but no one can leave or enter the school.
The code yellow was lifted by 10:05 a.m., according to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office. There was a domestic dispute that happened at 8:26 a.m. between a man and a woman at 25th and Randall Streets.
The man fled and police were led to believe that he may be armed. Police say they have a very good description of the suspect and believe they know where he is going.
