A Florida veteran says the Department of Veterans affairs told him he's dead even though he is very much alive.
Now he's fighting to get his benefits back.
Mike Rieker is a disabled veteran who depends on his V.A. benefits to live but when his check didn't arrive he called the V.A. to find out why.
The VA says they had marked him as "deceased" back in June because of a clerical error, the government thought he had died in a car crash.
Rieker says the VA sent him 4 checks after his "death" and then cut him off.
The department says the VA Secretary has taken responsibility for the problems and promised to fix them.
