Florida Citrus Commission considers cutting budget

The state of Florida is looking to cut 10 million dollars from its Citrus budget. Currently the budget is 30 million dollars.

The state says they would save money by spending less on special advertising, such as when it spent 1 million dollars in 2014 to use Marvel's "Captain Citrus" to promote the citrus industry.

The Florida Citrus Commission will determine final figures after the state sees how much money is left over from this year's budget.

This all comes after a recent study showed more than 80 percent of the citrus trees currently in operation across the state are infected with the disease.
