Firefighters battle warehouse fire in Orlando

Orange County Fire and Rescue officials say a fire that caused black smoke to spill out of a warehouse has been extinguished.

Crews were called to the building on Edgewater Drive near Lockhart at around 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters say a business located inside the warehouse tests manufactured barrels for shooting rifles. Officials say they were initially concerned about ammunition inside the warehouse and other chemicals involved in firearms manufacturing.

Orange County Fire and Rescue says they zeroed in on a fire location – which was a shipping container full of a rubber material. They say the fire was emitting a lot of smoke and heat but they were able to keep it contained.

Despite the difficult conditions, crews were able to get a handle on the fire. It was out by Tuesday evening. No one was hurt.
