ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Seminole County Fire Rescue responded to a 2-alarm fire in Altamonte Springs early Wednesday morning.
A unit at the Hidden Springs Apartments went up in flames. The owner of the condo says that her elderly mother was cooking when the fire started.

There were four people inside the apartment at the time. Everyone got out safely.
Fire rescue said that two patients had to be assessed: one for smoke inhalation and another suffered burns to the hand.
One neighbor was also evacuated. He tells Fox 35 he was awakened by someone pounding on his door around just after 3:30 a.m.

"Everyone was running out and looked to my left and I saw flames through the window. So we just got as far away as we could."
A second unit in the complex was also damaged.
