FHP has new leads in fatal hit and run

The Florida Highway Patrol has new leads in a fatal hit-and-run incident that happened along Universal Blvd. this past weekend.   Investigators are now looking for a 2011-to-2013 white Toyota Prius, which may have front-end damage.

Rasheed Wiggins, 39, was killed in that incident on Saturday night. Troopers said Wiggins was standing in the grassy median after a trip to a Walgreens, when a driver took a wide turn and hit him, tossing him into the roadway.  They said a second driver then ran him over and that both of those drivers left the scene.  A third driver, who troopers said was a taxi driver, hit Wiggins but stayed on scene and has been cooperating with investigators.  That driver told troopers he did not see Wiggins in the roadway.

Wiggins was the husband of former FOX 35 reporter Kimberly Wiggins.  Anyone with information about the suspected drivers or cars is asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS or FHP at 407-737-2213.
