FDOT says SunPass has eight days to develop a fix to recent issues

The heat on SunPass is getting even hotter.

State Transportation officials are now demanding answers from the toll contractor. SunPass has been dealing with issues of how and when tolls are charged for nearly a month now.

On June 5th, SunPass went down for maintenance. It was supposed to be back up by June 11th, but SunPass customers still cannot access their account.

The Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) secretary sent the contractor a letter. They now have eight days to figure out what happened and to come up with a plan to fix it.

Representative Bob Cortes says that the SunPass vendor is being fined $5,000 for every day the system has been down.
