ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A father says he got the best birthday and Christmas gift this season after learning that police have arrested the person accused of killing his son.
"I prayed and asked God to bring his killer to justice and he answered my prayers."
That answer came in the form of a phone call from police, Robert Payne Sr. said.
"They have made an arrest in my son's murder."
Teandra Adams, 21, is now charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Robert Payne Jr., 18.
"Him and my son were hanging together. That's all I really know," Payne said.
Police haven't released a motive for the murder.
"I'll never see Robert again, but I know he's in a better place," Payne added. "Senseless violence like this is going on everywhere, and we need to talk to our younger generation and try to raise them up to love one another, instead of using guns to handle the situations."
This singer uses Christian Rap to try and promote peace and sings.
"We all need Jesus Christ, we all need Jesus Christ in our life. We all need him in our lives."
He even hopes the alleged killer finds him.
"I just pray that this young man gets his life right with God. Because you have to answer for what you do. I just wish that everybody could live in peace and unity."
Inmate records show that Adams was released from prison just two months before the murder in November. He was convicted of robbery and possession of drugs.
