ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident that happened on Orange Blossom Trail near 23rd Street.
FHP found the car they believe was involved in the deadly hit and run and are processing the vehicle for evidence.
Cedric Leath was outside the auto body shop where he works near 23rd and OBT in Orlando when he saw something he'll never forget.
"It happened so fast, just like something in a movie, just look up and you see this lady and she comes out again and hits the car again then hits the ground right in front of my car," he said . "It was pretty spooky."
Leath told investigators a white Toyota Camry or Corolla was going 50 to 60 miles per hour and hit the woman who was crossing the street.
"Just hit her, knocked her up into the air about 15-20 feet," he explained. "I got out of my car and was indecisive: should I get in my car and chase the driver, or should I go and help her? There were other cars coming, so I jumped out in front of her so no one else would run her over."
FHP is asking anyone with information to contact Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
