Eustis man arrested after throwing rocks and dirt at vehicles

- A man was arrested in Eustis for throwing rocks and dirt at several vehicles.

An arrest affidavit from the Lake County Sheriff's Office says that a deputy responded the area of Milcreek Road that's between CR 44A and CR 437 in reference to several victim complaints about a shirtless male throwing objects at their vehicles as victims traveled on CR 44A. 

Upon arrival, the responding deputy observed that several deputies on scene already had the defendant, identified as 29-year-old John Earl Gregory, detained. 

Contact was said to have been made with three victims driving three different vehicles that were all about 700 feet away from where the defendant was detained. Victim one said that he was driving westbound on CR44A when Gregory threw dirt and rocks at his windshield, damaging the wiper blade assemble. The victim was also able to identify Gregory as the defendant who threw the objects. 

Another victim was also spoken to. The arrest affidavit says that victim 2 said he was traveling westbound on CR44A when he suddenly saw Gregory throw an object at their vehicle, damaging the hood and passenger front door. Victim two identified Gregory as the defendant who threw the object. 

A third victim was spoken to and its stated that victim 3 the victim was also traveling westbound on CR44A when Gregory threw an object at the passenger side of the windshield. The victim identified Gregory as the defendant that threw the objects.

The victim reportedly provided a sworn affidavit and was then taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Jail without further incident. The arrest affidavit notes that while Gregory was being placed in the patrol vehicle, the defendant spontaneously uttered that he is tired of people not sharing the roadway, so he must do what he has to do.
