SANFORD, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A 75-year-old man is behind bars after being arrested for the murder of his 82-year-old wife. He is due in court this Tuesday.
Sanford Police say that Elue Watson is out of the hospital and booked this morning. Police say he dismembered his wife with a machete.
Investigators now say when they found Watson near the train track sin Lake Mary on Friday, his clothes were covered in blood and there was a machete on the floor of his car. The 75-year-old allegedly told police that someone should check on his wife.
Investigators say they found Alice Watson tied to the bed at the couple's home on Sycamore Court. They say she had been cut several times and her finger had been severed.
Police took Watson to the hospital after he complained of high blood pressure. At last check, he was in the process of being booked into the jail on murdered and kidnapping charges.
Neighbors were stunned by the latest developments.
