Driver crashes after being shot in Downtown Orlando elevator

At about 2: 21 a.m. Sunday morning, Orlando Police units reportedly heard gunshots while patrolling West Pine Street.

The Orlando Police Department says a vehicle then exited a parking garage and crashed. The driver was found to have a gunshot wound to the upper torso. 

The driver was said to have been taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. He is in stable condition. 

Police say the shooting scene was soon located inside the elevator of a building on West Church street.

The suspect was reportedly last seen by security officers and described as a black male wearing black clothing.

The suspect is currently at large.

Investigators and K-9 units were on scene to investigate.
