DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The demeanor of 3-year-old Triumph is inspiring.
“He's triumphed over the injustice that was done to him. Whoever does these things to animals, it's beyond us," says Barry KuKes, Community Outreach Director for the Halifax Humane Society.
Even though his demeanor is that of a days-old puppy, the scars on his body tell a different story.
“It wasn't like from someone burning a match. It was a chemical burn… The chances of his hair ever growing back are very slim," Kukes tells FOX 35.
The dog was doused in a chemical acid and found as a stray in Daytona Beach. He has been given the name Triumph, which is a name truly suited for what this happy-go-lucky shelter dog has overcome. Now, Triumph is in need of a home.
"If that happened to me or you, boy we wouldn't trust anybody. We'd really be on guard all the time," Kukes says of Triumph’s kind nature, even after his injury.
Triumph’s trusting, vulnerable, and ready to be adopted, and for $35 Triumph is all yours. Just contact the Volusia County Animal Services at (386) 323-3575.
"Unconditional love, he'll give it to the right person. They just have to step up and love him back," Kukes adds.
Triumph will require some long term medical care for his scars, but he comes microchipped, neutered, and is up-to-date on his vaccinations.
