Detectives discover missing 2-year-old drowned
MELBOURNE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The Melbourne Police Department say they are investigating the drowning of a 2-year-old.
Officers were reportedly dispatched to the Caribbean Villas Apartment complex regarding a missing child. As officers were searching the area, the child was found underwater in a pond behind the clubhouse.
The report states that an officer immediately entered the water, pulled the child out, and began life saving measures. Melbourne Fire Rescue and Brevard County Fire Rescue soon arrived on scene and continued CPR measures.
Unfortunately though, the child had succumbed to this tragic event.
Detectives are in the initial stages of this investigation.
