Deputies: Threat to Lake County school not credible

Deputies in Lake County say a threat against a school is not credible.

After a student shot himself at Lake Minneola High School on Tuesday, officials say they were alerted to a Snapchat message.

They say the young man took a picture of himself with a firearm, and "alluded" to school violence occurring on Wednesday The message read "I'm going to Lake Minneola to finish what never started."

The suspect was identified and tracked down by deputies. When they found him, they discovered the alleged firearm was a pellet gun in his possession. It was seized, and the young man was charged.

Deputies say there is no threat to the school, however they did not specify which school was facing the threat in the first place.
