Deputies say shooting victim caught in crossfire of gunfight

- Orange County sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting near Evans High School.  Authorities said a man who was driving the white pickup truck was shot and they believe he was an innocent bystander who was caught in the middle of a gunfight between two groups of young people.

The shots were reported around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.  At least three schools in the vicinity were placed on lockdown and the injured man was rushed to the hospital.  At last check, he was in stable condition.

"I feel pretty concerned, as kids over here, and the school right here and, it could have been anyone of those kids," said one witness who said he heard between 10 to 15 shots.  "Happened in broad daylight and you have no regard for human life."

At least 14 different evidence markers were spread across a parking, along with shell casings.  Investigators do not have any suspect descriptions, all they say is that it was two groups of young people that were having the gun battle, and it appears as though they took off on foot.
