Police wish to question man in cases of school threats

- The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating what they are calling "threats" made to four different schools in the county.

A spokesman with the Sheriff's Office said Boone, Edgewater, Colonial high schools and Liberty Middle School  were threatened through social media.   Several agencies, including the Orlando Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation,  were working with the Sheriff's Office to track down the source of the threats.

Principals at the above-mentioned schools sent out a message to alert parents before classes were dismissed on Wednesday, according to Orange County Public Schools.

Authorities want to speak to 23-year-old Jesus Kong, described as a transient.  They say he is a person of interest in their investigation.

"We want to find him and question him, to see why he's thinking this way, why someone would want to put this out, we'd certainly love to have a conversation with him," explained Jeff Williamson with the Sheriff's Office.   "We've known about this for sometime.  We've been meeting and discussing it for several days now, and we believe we have taken the appropriate measures."

Classes were expected to resume, "as normal," on Thursday, Williamson said.
