ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) -
A man is in custody after fatally shooting a woman at a residence and critically injuring another victim at a separate location.
The incident started early Friday evening when Orange County deputies deputies were first called to Yucatan Drive, where a 45-year-old woman was fatally shot in a driveway of a home. Deputies received the 911 call from a child at the home.
A little over an hour after the first call, deputies responded to a call for another shooting on 2nd St. When deputies arrived they found a 34-year-old man and transported him to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical, but stable condition.
Deputies were able to locate the suspect, later identified as 50-year-old Manuel Feliciano, at a third location on Annandale Ave.
Feliciano fired shots from inside the residence as deputies approached, according to Orange County Sheriff's Office. Two deputies returned fire causing the suspect to retreat back into the residence.
A little after midnight SWAT was able to enter the residence and secure Feliciano. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. Feliciano has been charged with first degree murder with a firearm and attempted first degree murder with firearm.
Sheriff Demings has requested the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to conduct an independent investigation.
