Deputies investigate attempted sexual assault

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Orange County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a person of interest in connection with an attempted sexual assault at the Marquee apartment complex Monday morning.

“It’s scary, because I live here, so it makes me not want to go outside and stuff,” said Derresha Jones.

Deputies say it happened around 1:30 a.m. at the apartment complex  --  they say the victim told deputies she was approached by a white man who grabbed her arm and threw her to the ground where he tried to sexually assault her.

“I hope they do find him,” Jones said.

Deputies believe the man in a surveillance image has information about the incident, and they want to talk to him.

Meanwhile, students are taking extra precautions.

“I’m not going to be by myself, because then you have no protection,” Jones said.
