MIMS, Fla. (FOX 35 Orlando) - Deputies with the Brevard Sheriff's Office are searching for three people who are accused of attempting to lure a Madison Middle School student into a vehicle.
Hunter Wilson, 14, says he was at a bus stop by the corner of Arauntia and Meadow Green in Mims, tying his shoe, when three strangers pulled up alongside him.
"They pulled off to the side and told me to get in the car, and then they started yelling at me and telling me to get into the car," he explained.
Hunter's mother, Alana, says one of the strangers cursed at her son as he told him to get into the dark SUV. At the time she says, Hunter was by himself.
"It spooked him," she said.
Deputies are trying to find the suspects, calling this a "suspicious incident."
Hunter said he was standing right at the bus stop when the suspect drove up and parked across the street and yelled at him to get into the car and that's when he says he ran down a dirt road.
"I got up and started running to the woods. When I seen my bus, I told my bus driver," he said.
The driver is described as a man 40 to 50 years old, with grey and black hair, a receding hairline and a goatee. Two women were also in the vehicle. He described the SUV.
"Matte black dodge Durango, 2019 maybe, and it had a stick figure family on the back window," Hunter said.
Alana wants to warn parents to beware, and if anyone saw what happened to Hunter, to call authorities..
"If there's neighbors that have it on their surveillance or somebody that seen it at 8:30 this morning that they could reach out to local law enforcement because luckily in our situation we were fortunate to get our kid back home with us. Next time the kid may not be as fortunate as we were," Alana added.
She said parents are working together to make sure the kids are safe at area bus stops.
