Deltona woman found after disappearing in the forest for days

30-year-old Deltona woman, Nikki Shriver, has been found after disappearing Friday when her pickup truck became stuck in the Tiger Bay Forest, says the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

They went on to say that Shriver was taken to the Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach for evaluation, but no major injuries were evident.

She was reportedly found around 5:26 a.m. after detectives returned to the woods near the area where Shriver went missing and turned on their sirens. Shriver came out from a wooded area about a mile south of the location where her vehicle was stuck.

Detectives say that Shriver told them that she was running and hiding from the search parties because she was paranoid and feared someone was looking for her. They also said that Shriver has some survivalist background and has spent time in the woods in the past.
