Deltona man accused of exposing self to girl

A 79-year-old Deltona man is accused of stalking and exposing himself to a 10-year-old girl.  Rogelio Melot-Rodriguez appeared in a Volusia County courtroom on Wednesday with a translator, telling the judge, "Lo siento. [I'm sorry.] But it's not true."  He then broke down crying .

The girl's mother called 911 on Tuesday night after she, her 15-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter said they saw Melot-Rodriguez standing outside the little girls' bedroom window, inappropriately touching himself and waving.  The woman told a 911 operator, "There's this guy that keeps walking past our  window. My daughter's been telling me about this. I finally started watching what he's doing out the window."   Authorities said the girl told her mother that Melot-Rodriguez would follow her as she walked their dog.

In court, Melot-Rodriguez's sister in law asked the judge to let him out saying, "Anyone who doesn't know him would assume he's other than a respectful man. That's all I've known my entire life.  I don't believe that these charges are justified. I believe that they false. Maybe they misunderstood this gentleman, because he is a gentleman. "  She told the judge Melot-Rodriguez walks two to three times a day, because of a spinal and hip injury.

The judge gave Melto-Rodriguez $25,000 bond.
