MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is working to figure out what happened Sunday night after two bodies were found inside a home.
The incident happened at a house on Indian Street in Merritt Island. Crime scene investigators have been at the scene all Monday morning collecting evidence.
The Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from a family friend who said 42-year-old Sittichai Boonkeian and his daughter, 13-year-old Ananya, had not been heard from for almost a week. Late Sunday night, deputies forced their way in and found the two deceased inside the home.
"He was an excellent father," said neighbor Wanda Grega. "Traumatizing, I mean totally just totally traumatizing. I would never believe in a million years something like that would happen."
Ananya is described by neighbors and a family friend as a straight "A" student at Tropical Elementary School. Fluent in three languages, she would often translate for her father, who worked as a chef at local Thai restaurants.
No cause of death has been determined yet, but the investigators said they are not actively looking for any suspects.
