Deadly hit-and-run in Apopka

APOPKA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol are searching for driver in a deadly hit-and-run incident.  It happened just before 7 p.m. Monday along Apopka Vineland Road near Lake Street in Orange County.

Lake Street was blocked off for several hours while authorities responded.  Troopers say a "white passenger vehicle" struck a pedestrian who was inside a marked crosswalk.  A witness said that car fled and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.  No other details were immediately released.
