Deadly crash closes portion of U.S. 17-92

A deadly crash occurred in Sanford late Tuesday night on U.S. Highway 17-92.  The crash site is near the preserves of Lake Monroe subdivision.  According to the Florida Highway Patrol, three cars were involved in the crash and one of those cars caught fire.  Troopers said one person died.

Part of 17-92 was expected to be closed for at least four hours, from Country Club to Oak Drive.  Troopers said drivers should avoid the area, which is east of the Central Florida Zoo.  The road should be clear by the morning rush hour.
