Child killed crossing street from school
MELBOURNE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A 11-year-old boy was killed after he was hit by a vehicle while he was crossing the road going home from school Friday afternoon.
Police received the call just before 4 p.m about the vehicle crash on Post Road near Sherwood Boulevard in Melbourne.
Police say the 11-year-old boy was with 8-year-old when the crash happened.
The child was immediately airlifted to Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital in Orlando, but later died from his injuries.
The Melbourne Police Department continue to investigate the crash. No word on if the driver of the vehicle will be facing any charges.
