APOPKA, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A child was transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital after Florida Highway Patrol says the boy was hit by a car in Apopka.
A witness tell us she saw a woman and a child trying to cross a 2-way street when they were hit. Both victims were taken to area hospitals. The child was transported as a trauma alert. The woman was taken to Florida Hospital Apopka, after being treated for her injuries on scene.
A witness, Marisol Aguirre, tells Fox 35 that she was driving when the crash happened right in front of her. “He tried to stop and turn the truck, but it was too late and the next thing you know, you see the little boy flying in the sky and landed on the floor, and she just fell unconscious immediately, so I just pulled over and called 911, and I mean it was tragic, but I hope everybody is okay.”
The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident. It’s unknown at this time if the driver will face any charges.
